The Tri Town Sno Travellers groom close to 600 km of trail around here, from the Temagami area to Elk Lake and Englehart. Back at the house there’s a driveway for two trucks with trailers and a hot tub that’s open all year.
We can’t yet give a confirmed distance from the house to the nearest trail. The OFSC Interactive Trail Guide is the only official source for trail status, so check it and ask the club about the closest access.

OFSC District 14
The Timiskaming Abitibi Trail Association runs the district that covers the trails here. The OFSC Interactive Trail Guide is the only authorized source for trail status.
Permits
Ontario Snowmobile Trail Permit
Required on OFSC trails. Choose a Seasonal permit, a Classic permit for machines from 1999 or older, or a Multi Day permit for two days or more, available from December 2. We haven’t confirmed 2026 to 2027 prices.
Riding into Quebec
Trails across the lake are run by the FCMQ and need an FCMQ trail permit, not the Ontario one. For 2025 to 2026 the FCMQ charged $450 for an annual permit bought early, $300 for seven days, and $90 for one day. Check the FCMQ for this season.
Parking and riding in town
The driveway
The driveway is 40 feet long and two cars wide. It fits four cars, or two trucks with trailers. In winter it’s the only place to park, so if you’re bringing more than that, message us before you book.
Winter overnight parking ban
The City bans parking on every street and every City owned lot from midnight to 7 AM, November 1 to March 31, so the plows can work. Trucks with three or more axles or over 5,000 kg are limited to two hours on any street, and angle parking with a trailer isn’t allowed.
Midnight to 7 AM, November 1 to March 31
Riding in town
The City’s snowmobile bylaw bans riding on Ferguson Ave from Blackwall to Browning, Main St from Farr Drive to Browning, and Lakeshore Rd South from Browning to Radley Hill, except to cross at right angles. Riding on City property is banned except on established trails, and so is riding within 100 m of a school during weekday school hours, September to June. The fine is $85. Brewster St isn’t on the list, but we can’t confirm a legal route from the door, so check with the club.
Ice safety
Lake ice
We haven’t found a marked ice trail or official ice access near Haileybury. Ontario says travelling on ice is risky and should be avoided, and the Temiskaming OPP advise staying on land based OFSC trails. Check with the club first, wear a flotation suit, and carry ice picks.
